If you are staying in Bosa for some days we recommend a daytrip to Tinnura. The beautiful village of Tinnura with its famous “Murales” (wallpaintings) is always worth a visit. Almost every house has a traditional wallpainting on it. Mostly they’re all day situations from Sardinian farmers or craftsmen. Some of them seem so real that one might not notice the difference between wall and painting.
Along the mainstreet of Tinnura you can find waterfountains created in the form of the 12 zodiacs made of basalt and artfully formed as gargoyles. Further along you reach Piazza del Sole with its huge sun image on the wall. The fountain in the middle is a symbol in honor for the Sardinian basket weavers. We encourage you to take a walk past the square and into the smaller street behind it. From here you get a marvelous view to the sea and Bosa.
Stintino – La Pelosa
The caribbean feeling in Sardinia!
Stintino is about a 2 hour drive north from Bosa and always worth a daytrip. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in Italy! Water temperatures are like mild swimming pool water, just perfect for a nice relaxing swim. If you like to explore the traditional fishing in Sardinia take a drive to Stintino village and stroll along the harbour. There are snack bars along the beach and lots of water sports to enjoy but most of all the famous view to Isola Asinara. Don’t forget to take a coffee or get some gelato in Alghero on your way home to Bosa!
